Ballypatrick Auctions delivered a landmark edition in 2025, recording a record turnover of €5,675,500, with exceptional top-end results achieved across all age categories. The sale once again confirmed Ballypatrick Auctions’ position as a key fixture in the elite sport horse calendar.
Greg Broderick and the Ballypatrick team set out to assemble a collection of high-quality sport horses, and the sale attracted strong international interest. Buyers competed from around the globe, reflecting continued confidence in both the horses presented and the production system behind them.
The clear highlight of the sale was LOT 1 – Ursula Ter Wilgen Z, a 7-year-old mare with undeniable top-level potential, who topped the auction at an outstanding €940,000. By Untouchable out of the 1.60m jumping mare Olivia de Muze, Ursula Ter Wilgen Z became a major talking point throughout the industry and now heads to her new owners in Switzerland.
Close behind was LOT 2 – Eclaire STG Z, a standout 6-year-old mare, who realised €470,000. By Ermitage Kalone, Eclaire STG Z attracted strong international interest following a series of impressive performances during the season. A mare with clear quality and presence, she moves on to a 5-star home in Morocco.
The auction highlighted the current strength of the market for premium-quality horses that have been correctly produced. A particularly pleasing aspect of the sale was the variety of buyers involved, ranging from established 5* competitors to ambitious up-and-coming riders, all competing confidently for the right horses.
The pony section performed exceptionally well, attracting strong competition and achieving significant prices, underlining the continued demand for top-quality ponies with international potential. In addition, the inclusion of anAmerican Hunter broadened the scope of the sale, introducing a new client base and demonstrating the auction’s abilityto appeal to a wider spectrum of the sport horse market.
